DNA is eluted in a volume of 0,5 ml. these DNA solution is hunderd times diluted in a buffer. the A60=0,85 and A280=0,46.

how much DNA was isolated? can someone give this answer.

I wrote by the excercise that A260=1 -> 50 ng/ml, is this something we have to know or can caluculate? of has it to be in the question?

Solution

We can calculate the concentration of DNA. The formula for determining the concentration of DNA is;

Concentration (ug/ml)= (A260-A320)x dilution factor x 50ug/ml.

In the following question A320 is not being provided, so once we know the value at A320 we can calculate the concentration of DNA.

DNA is eluted in a volume of 0,5 ml. these DNA solution is hunderd times diluted in a buffer. the A60=0,85 and A280=0,46. how much DNA was isolated? can someone
