In upper and lower branch,

two 2ohms resistor are in series.

so equivalent of these two resistor = 2 + 2 = 4 ohm

now 4 ohm , 2 ohm and 4 ohm are in parallel.

so

1/Req = 1/4 + 1/2 + 1/4

1/Req = 4/4

Req = 1 ohm
