13.We know that 1” = (1/12) ‘ and 1 yard = 3 feet. Also, the volume of a slab = length*height*thickness. Here, the volume of the slab =50*60*(4/12) = 1000 cubic feet = 1000/(3*3*3) =37.03703704= 37 cubic yards ( on rounding off to the nearest full cubic yard).

14. The weight of concrete is 150 pounds per cubic foot or, 150*3*3*3 = 4050 pounds per cubic yard. Therefore, the weight of the concrete slab admeasuring 2 cubic yards is 2*4050 = 8100.

15. On the architect’s scale for the scale ¼ (3” = 1’ scale), the space between adjacent graduations represents 1/8” i.e. the smallest increment for the scale ¼ is 1/8th of an inch.
