False All steps of phototransduction are lightdependent True

False All steps of phototransduction are light-dependent True False The sensory cells involved with static equilibrium are located in the: maculae of the utricle and saccule

Solution

ans-No

1.In phototransduction only first step is light dependent, the inactive rhodopsin convert into active rhodopsin in the presence of light, light photon interact to the retina in photoreceptor cell. And The retinal undergoes to isomerisation reaction 11-cis to all-trans configuration than activated rhodopsin activate transducing than activated transducing activate phosphodiesterase-and conversion of C-AMP t0 GMP and closing the sodium channel cause hyperpolarization due to effluex of potassium ions,so voltage –gated calcium channel close. So calcium level in photoreceptor cell drops. than calcicum require for glutamin containing vesicles so the vesicles fuse with cell-membran, resulting release contents. but due to low calcium level no glutamin release by photoreceptor cell, it cause Depolarization of bipolar cell {rod & cone}
