Can anyone please explain to me why csc1 2 is equal to csc1

Can anyone please explain to me why csc^-1 (2) is equal to csc^-1 (1/2)? It\'s unclear to me why they both equal Pi/6.

Thanks in advance!

Solution

Solution : We know that csc^-1(2) = sin^-1(1/2)=/6.

Similarly csc^-1(1/2)=sin^-1(2)

But it is known that the value of sin( theta ) can not be greater than 1.

Thus the value of csc-1(2) is /6, but the value of csc-1(1/2) does not exist.

Hence both are not equal to each other.
