The Wingate Anaerobic 30 cycle Test also known as WANT is us
The Wingate Anaerobic 30 cycle Test (also known as WANT) is used by coaches in a number of sports. It measures an individual\'s Peak Power output in Watts per body mass. Among young, active males, the results are normally distributed with a mean of 9.67 W/kg and a standard deviation of 1.2 W/kg. What is the first quartile of this population?
Solution
Let X the the individual peak power output
X is normal with mean = 9.67 and std dev = 1.2
Std normal table gives I quartile value as z=-0.675
Hence corresponding x value= 9.67-0.675(1.2)
=8.86
Hence first quartile = 8.86
