from equation 1

-x/4 - y/4= -1

or, -(x+y)= -4

Or,   y=4-x .............(3)

from equation 2

2x/14 + y/14=3

Or, (2x+y)=42

Or, y=42-2x ..............(4)

42-2x=4-x

Or, x=42-4=38

& y=4-38=-34
