I dissolved 5g SDS in 50ml of water to make a 10% stock solution. How do I dilute from that to make a 0.5% SDS solution?

D1 * V1= D2 *V2

D=DILUTION PERCENTAGE

SINCE V2 IS UNKNOWN

10 *50 = .5 * V2

V2= 10*50/0.5 = 1000

SO WE WILL HAVE TO ADD ....1000- 50 (WATER ALREADY IN SOLUTION) = 950 ml OF WATER TO STOCK SOLUTION
