Determine the magnitude and coordinate direction angles of the force F acting on the support. The component of F in the x-y plane is 7 kN.

Solution

The projection of F on to the xy plane is = 7kN = F1

      F cos(30) = 7kN = F1

     F = 7 kN / cos(30) = 8.082 kN

The z- component of F is = F* sin(30) = 4.041 kN

x-component of F is = F1 * cos(40) = 5.362 kN

y componenti of F is = F1*cos(50) = 4.499 kN
