The cereal box says it provides a full days supply of vitami
The cereal box says it provides a full day’s supply of vitamins and minerals, so she knows it is nutritious. Lucy thinks that when she eats the cereal for dinner, it doesn’t matter if she didn’t eat all the right things earlier in the day. What do you think of Lucy’s cereal dinners? If the cereal provides 100% of the DRI for all vitamins and minerals, then is Lucy correct that it doesn’t matter what else she eats during the day? If not, why not? What other factors does Lucy need to consider besides the percentage of DRI?
Solution
The nutrition facts label of cereals show that they are full of vitamin and minerals. Vitamins and minerals make people\'s body work properly but just becase a food is rich in vitamins and minerals does not mean it is healthy overall. Just having viatmins and minerals are not enough for your body, your body needs amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, fiber etc in a good quantity.
So, according to me, lucy should have a balanced meal rich in all essentia nutients for a better health.
DRI is acronymn for dietary reference intake is used for diet assessment and planning. So, if a cereal is 100% of DRI for all vitamins and minerals, then it is the perfect meal for your body as it contains all essential elements.
