Use the discriminant D to determine whether each equation has two distinct real solutions a single real solution or two complex solutions. Use the quadratic formula to solve ONE of the equations. 99 - 66x = - 11x^2 4x^2 - 24x + 37 = 0 7/4 x^2 - 19/20 x - 6/5 = 0

Solution

(a) 99 - 66x = -11x^2

quadratic formula = {-b+_(b^2 -4ac)}/2a

Standard form of eqn is 11x^2 - 66x + 99 = 0

here a = 11 , b = -66 and c = 99

so that put all the values

{-(-66)+_((66)^2 -4(11)()99)}/2(11)

= 3 or 3
