Say you have a rental store and have data for the total coun

Say you have a rental store and have data for the total count of a item that is checked out for every hour over the last year ( 365 days). How do you determine, based on the past year\'s data, if the quantity of an item should be increased or decreased or stay the same to accommidate rental requests?

How can I do this using a Poisson distriubution function? Preferably in excel. Also could you please exaplin how the Poisson Distribution solves this problem( in words)?
