Put the steps in correct order to trace an embolic stroke.

1 Plaque or clot breaks from the wall of the heart or carotid artery.
2.Embolus passes through the carotid artery into the brain.
3.Inflammatory process begins to help the body dissolve the clot, leading to edema in the area.
4. Lack of blood flow to the tissue served by the arteriole results in hypoxia and eventual cell death.
5.Dead neurons no longer fire, resulti ing in weakness and or paralysis.
6.Edema causes increase in local pressure and even more nerve damage.

Solution

Embolic cerebrovascular stroke takes the following order of pathophysiological events: Embolus is the freely floating clot as it could be solid, liquid, or gaseous mass has the capability to clog any arteries of blood vessels. Carotid artery embolism (formation of clot) result in myocardial infarction in which hand will be paralyzed initially. Further cerebral stroke is resulted from the embolism in the blood vessel, which is supplying oxygenated blood to the brain.
