QUESTION 3 10 points Save Answer 3 For an ideal transformer

QUESTION 3 10 points Save Answer 3. For an ideal transformer, given Vp=120V, Vs=480V, and Np=10°turns, how many turns comprise the secondary coil? QUESTION 4 10 points Save Answer 4. For an ideal transformer, given vp=1.2kV, Ip=100A, and Vs=240V, find the secondary current in Amps.

Solution

1.For a transformer the transformation ratio is given by

Vp/Vs = Np/Ns = Is/Ip

120/480 = 100/Ns

1/4=100/Ns

there fore number of secondary turns Ns = 400

2. Transformation ratio is given by

Vp/Vs = Is/Ip

1200/240 = Is/100

5 = Is/100

therefore secondary current Is= 500A
