If 60% recrystallization of 70% cold worked iron takes 40 minutes at 600 C and 8 minutes at 650 C, how long would it take at 700 C?

Solution

>> At 600 C, time taken by iron for 60 % recrystallization = 40 minutes

>> At 650 C, time taken by iron for 60 % recrystallization = 8 minutes

So, by interpolation, and making TTT Diagram

>> At 700 C, time taken by iron for 60 % recrystallization = t (Assume)

and, t = 6 minutes
