Solution

line passing through (7,y) and (3,0) is parallel to the line joining (4,4) and (-2,1)

line parallel to the line joining (4,4) and (-2,1) ; m = ( 1-4)/( -2 -4) = -3/-6 = 1/2

Slope from  (7,y) and (3,0) ; m= (0 -y)/( 3 -7) = -y/(-4) = y/4

Now y/4 = 1/2

y = 2
