1 A 10 mol sample of helium gas has a temprature of 27 celsi
1) A 1.0 mol sample of helium gas has a temprature of 27 celsius. What is the total kinetic energy of all the gas atoms in the sample? How fast would a 65-kg person have to run to have the same kinetic energy??
2) What is the dew point if the humudity is 75% on a day when the temprature is 25 celsius??
Solution
1.
Kinetic energy
KE =(3/2)nRT =(3/2)*1*8.31*(273.2+27)
KE=3742 J or 3.742 KJ
For a 65 Kg person to have same Kinetic energy ,his speed should be
KE =(1/2)mV2=3742
(1/2)*65*V2=3742
V=10.73 m/s
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2.
Dew point temperature is given by
Td=T-(100-RH)/5 =25-(100-75)/5
Td=20oC
