It is better to sample without replacement when testing batches of products because-

(i)In with replacement process same batches may be tested again and again which is not in without replacement.

(ii)For estimating the population mean with the sample mean the standard error for without replacement process is lesser than with replacement.

Here since the samples are drawn without replacement outcome at a particular draw is dependent on the previous draws.So we use the multiplication rule for dependent events.
