Some people choose a permanent form of birth control by electing to be sterilized. Do you think that the government should be able to sterilize parents convicted of child abuse? Defend your position for or against this idea.

Solution

First of all, child abuse is a very depressive thing observed in many of the developing countries. Parents go to any extent just for money. I would not blame all the parents, maybe one in hundred parents. Now coming to the point of sterilizing the parents who are convicted of child abuse. According to me, this is not an appropriate measure that has to be taken by the government. This can be one of the undertakings. Firstly, parents convicted of child abuse should be severely punished. Punishment need not mean just sterilization. Because, sterilization can stop the parents from having children in the future, but what about the child who was victimized? Dont the parents deserve any thrashing? Yes, definitely they do! So, whats the point of just doing a sterilization technique performed on them? Maybe, after penealizing or punisheing them, further they can be sterilized so that they are not given the option of an other child. The main reason why they should be punished is not only for their misdemeanour, but the cruelty of the punishment would evoke a sense of fear in others. This should be my strong suggestion. Sterilization of the parents is only one of the solutions according to me.
