Simplify the equations

6x+3y = 4x+17 =====> 6x-4x+3y=17 =====> 2x+3y=17 -------(1)

x-2y = -2 ======>x = 2y-2

Now using substitution method

substitute x= 2y-2 in equation (1)

so,
2(2y-2) +3y =17

simplifying it

4y-4+3y =17

7y=17+4

7y=21

Now x=2y-2

x=2*3 -2
