Write the equation in slopeintercept form and state the slop

Write the equation in slope-intercept form and state the slope and the y-intercept. -2 (x + 3y) = 1

Solution

-2(x + 3y) = 1

==> (x + 3y) = -1/2

==> 3y = -x - 1/2

==> y = (1/3) [ -x - 1/2 ]

==> y = (-1/3)x - 1/6

Slope intercept form of line is y = mx + c

m = slope , c = y - intercept

==> by comparing m = -1/3 , c = -1/6

Hence slope = -1/3 , y - intercept = -1/6.

 Write the equation in slope-intercept form and state the slope and the y-intercept. -2 (x + 3y) = 1Solution-2(x + 3y) = 1 ==> (x + 3y) = -1/2 ==> 3y = -x
