the height h in feet of an object thrown upward from a heigh

the height h in feet of an object thrown upward from a height of 5 ft, with an initial velocity of 30 ft/sec, is given by the equation h= -16t2 +30t+5, where h represents the height of the object after t seconds.

2) the length of a garden is 5 ft less than twice is width. The area of the garden is 88 ft2. Find the length and width of the garden.

Solution

1) h= -16t2 +30t+5

where h represents the height of the object after t seconds.

WHAT is the Question?????

2) length of a garden is 5 ft less than twice is width

Let the wdith be w

So, lenght = 2w -5

So, Area = l*w = w(2w-5)

Area = 88 ft^2

So, w(2w-5) =88

2w^2 -5w -88 =0

Ue quadratic root formula to wolve for w:

w = ( 5+ /- sqrt( 25 +88*4*2) )4 = ( 5+ /- 27)/4

Ngelecting -ve root so, we have w = 8 feet

width = 8 feet

length = 2*w -5 = 2*8 -5 = 11 feet

the height h in feet of an object thrown upward from a height of 5 ft, with an initial velocity of 30 ft/sec, is given by the equation h= -16t2 +30t+5, where h
