If there is no vertical component of the force then :

FA Cos () = FB Cos(a)

Or, 8.4* Cos() = 5.3 * Cos(24.5°)

Or, Cos() = 0.5741

Or, = 54.96°

Magnitude of the resultant force = FA Sin() + FB Sin(a) = 8.4*Sin(54.96°) + 5.3*Sin(24.5°)

                                                                                            = 9.075 kN
