I think there is a mistake in writing x value. It should be x= -5.

So that on pluging x=-5 and y=5 in first equation we get

x+y= -5+5=0 (true)

and on pluging in second equation we get

x-y=(-5)-(5)= -5-5 =-10 (true)

Hence x=-5 and y=5 is a solution to the given system of equations.
