The first thing one should always do is to make sure that everything is plugged in like the computer, router, device.

b) Ping :

The next thing is that we need to test that the machine is working properly. To do this, we want to ping ourself. We use the loop-back address (127.0.0.1) to do this. Pinging the loop-back make sure that the software on the computer is working properly. If something is not working at this stage, we need to just restart computer.

c) Ping with our IP Address :

We want to test to make sure everything is working correctly between the router and the computer. To do this, we need to ping our IP address. It is listed in the ipconfig command at the same time the router IP number is. If this works, we can be pretty confident that a problem is outside the network.
