This is a short thought about Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack.

I didn\'t know it at the time, but Peggy McIntosh\'s Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack is kind of a classic of anti-racist thought. According to me, In the article named \"White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack,\" Peggy McIntosh is a white woman who decided to work on herself by identifying effects of white privilege in her life. That means the privileges because of skin-color. So, according to her, white privilege is “an invisible package of unearned assets which she can count on cashing in each day, but about which she was meant to remain oblivious.” This discovery came in front of her when she was preparing a research article concerning male privilege in America. And after the study she claims that: \"I can do well in a challenging situation without being called a credit to my race\"

The basic idea about racism is that, It\'s not just about exclusion and oppression. Fighting racism is not only about overturning blatantly discriminatory laws or cracking down on hate crimes but also can be a lot more subtle than that. And I especially agree with the point she made about always being represented in media. Everywhere you look, the standard of beauty and normalcy portrays whiteness as perfection. Its so easy to buy anything featuring white people.
