Solution

52) A) Voltage at anode is greater than voltage at cathode

B) For an ideal transistor as a switch, When it is turned fully OFF, resistance RCE(between collector and emitter) =infinite resulting in current through transistor I = zero. When it turned “fully-ON\", RCE = zero between the Collector and Emitter , resulting in maximum current flow.

But practically when the transistor is turned “OFF”, small leakage currents flow through transistor and when fully “ON” the device has a low resistance value causing a small saturation voltage ( VCE ) across it. So in both cut-off and saturation regionstje transistor may not be works like a perfect switch, results in a small power dissipation. So the power dissipated by the transistor switch is always at its minimum.

C) Frequency of a waveform having a period 0.2ms is = 1/0.2ms = 5kHz

D) Given that Ton = 0.9ms and T = 3.0ms

Duty Cycle = Ton/T = o.3

E) Given that Vpeak = 100V, duty cycle of 80%

Average voltage of rectangular pulse wave Vavg = Vpeak * dutycycle/100 = 100*80/100 = 80V
