The very nature of Internet-based learning poses communication challenges. What are some of the specific communication hurdles we have to clear in an online course? Are some barriers easier to overcome than others? Are there some we just can\'t do much about?
Solution
There are some hurdles which we have to clear in an online course also i added how to reduce the barriers
1>Curriculam:-The curriculum of any online program must be carefully considered and developed in order to be successful. The importance of the curriculum and the need for qualified professionals to develop it should not be overlooked
2>Teachers Read online lesson while recording :-Most people forget they are teaching when they are recording a course, because they slip into merely reading. It’s effective to call out these points and get off script.
3>Involvement of the students :-Build in interaction, not only with questions, but also by involving the audience.Engage them in the online learning so that communication barrier can be minimized
4>Body Language and Hand movements to explain things better:-Use voice, hands, body, tone, content, or structure when students ask questions, and how to answer them or while recording the lesson . Notice when they look confused, and how you address that.
5>Use of speciall Words/slangs :-Keep your language conversational. Contractions, shorter sentences, active verbs, fragments, and so forth and dont use any slang .
6>Recording on camera not in reality :-Think of the camera as the student. Imagine a face there. Imagine a confused face there… Talk to those faces. Put up names and/or pictures if it helps.
There are some hurdles for which we cant do much about that is :-
1>Computer Literacy/knowledge of the student
2>Lack of Essential Online Qualities in trainer
3>Some subjects can not be taught online and are best taught in a face-to-face traditional learning environment like sports
