The terminal point Px y determined by a real number t is 51
     The terminal point P(x, y) determined by a real number t is  (- 5/13, 12/13) sin t =  cos t = tan t =

  Solution
use the definition.
 r=( 5 / 13 )2 + ( 12 / 13 )2 = 1
So the point P is on the unit circle.
The hypotenuse is 1 so just use , sin = opp/hyp , cos = adj/hyp , tan = opp/adj
sin = y / r = y / 1 = 12 / 13
cos = x / r = x / 1 = 5/13
tan = y / x = (12 / 13) / (5 / 13 ) = 12 / 5
