Does mitosis favor genetic diversity or not. And why?

Mitosis is the type of division which occurs in the somatic cell. Here only one parents cells is involved instead of both parents hence no genetic diversity or changes occurs in the mitosis..!! If by chance mutation occurs in mitosis by any reason genetic diversity may achieved but I will take time

Genetic variations occurs in meosis due to the crossing between the two parents chromosomal test, homology recombination which occurs in the meosis..!!
