Erythrocytes:
A red blood cell, which is a biconcave disc without a nucleus. Erythrocytes contain the pigment haemoglobin, which imparts the red colour to blood, and transport oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from the tissues.
Erythrocytes incapable of protein synthesis and mitosis:
Mature red blood cells do not contain a nucleus or mitochondria which makes mitosis impossible. As cells require nucleus and mitochondria to perform mitosis(process of cell division).
