Width of the clarifier = 5m

Length of the clarifier = 25m

Depth of the clarifier = 3.5m

a) Detention time (T) = Volume the clarifier/Discharge

=437.5/0.04

=10937.5 sec

=10937.5/3600

= 3.04 hrs

b) Surface over flow rate (SOR) = Discharge/ Cross sectional area of clarifier

= 0.04/125

= 3.2 * 10-4 m3/m2/s

Weir length = 2.5* clarifier width =12.5 m

c) Weir loading rate = Discharge/ weir length

=0.04/12.5

=3.2*10-3 m3/m/s
