Consider the two genes described in Question 7. What is the probability of obtaining a double heterozygote in the cis configuration from the following cross: Ab/aB x AB/ab? 0.105 0.210 0.30 0.50 0.70

Solution

The cis configuration of the heterozygote i.e. A and B dominant alleles in one chromosome and a and b recessive chromosome in another chromosome (AB/ab). Dominant and recessive chromosomes sorted in separate chromosomes and also known as coupling. The other way of arrangement Ab/aB type is called opposite arrangement or otherwise called trans or repulsion.

The probability of both must be d. 0.5
