A. x = 15, y = 17

Solution

We know that the sum of the angles on a straight line is 180^o. Hence

4y + 112 = 180

4y = 68

y = 17^o

7x + 7 = 112^o   (vertically opposite angle)

x = 105/7 = 15

So correct answer is A i.e. x=15^o and y=17^o
