Find each of the following and describe in a sentence what the answer tells you a. f(190,000) b. f(320,000) c.f(520,000) d.(Sketch a graph of f(x).

Solution

a)

x=150,000 = 130,000 + 20,000

f(x) = 40% of 130,000 + 33.3 % of 20,000

f(x) = 52,000 + 6660 = 58660

b)

x=320,000 =130,000 + 130,000 + 60,000

f(x) = 40% of 130,000 + 33.3% of 130,000 +30% of 60,000

f(x) = 52,000 + 43290 + 18000 =113290

c)

x = 520,000 = 130,000 + 130,000 + 190,000 + 70,000

f(x) = 40% of 130,000 +33.3% of 130,000 +30% of 190,000 + 24% of 70,000

f(x) = 52,000 + 43290 + 57,000 + 16800 =169090

 According to a state law, the maximum amount of a jury award that Attorney\'s can receive is given below. 40% of the first$130,000 33.3% of the next $190,00 30
