How might you do a controlled experiment in which you ask it colder temperatures cause leaves to change coot and drop in the Fall. State your hypothesis, and describe the controlled experiment

Experiment:

Aim: To show why leaves change color in autumn season.

Materials required: 3 leaves (from the sam tree), Rubbing alcohol, Jar, Plastic wrap, Paper filter and small bowl.

Procedure:

Hypothesis: The leaves turn yellow or orange in the autumn due to the loss of chlorophyll from them.

Conclusion: In experiment, we used the rubbing alcohol and energy (hot water) to separate the colors. You will observe the yellow, orange or red coloured leaves depending upon the type of your leaf. As, we know chlorophyll gives green color to the leaves and is so dominant that it hides all the other colors from the leaves. But in the fall, chlorophyll from the leaves breaks down allowing the other colors to finally shine.
