What is the difference between a stress strain curve of a concrete beam and a steel beam?

Solution

In concrete beam, there is no specific yield point to determine the yield stress. But in steel there is clear yield point( Upper yield and lower yield).

In concrete beam, there is no yield plateau which is showing the property of ductility. But in steel after yielding it shows the yield plateau. if more yield plateau, more ductility.

Offset method is used to find the yield point in concrete beam. In steel beam no off set method is required.
