7 Draw a circle passing point P and tangential to given circ

7. Draw a circle passing point P and tangential to given circle with radius R. 8. Draw a circle tangential to a given line and another given circle with radius R 9. Draw a circle tangential to two given lines with Radius R 10. Draw 2 circles tangential to both given circles and with a radius R 1 1

Solution

Its relatively simple

1) measure the length of line which is given as radius of circle.

2) use compass and open its two ends taking distance between the ends equal to the measure of radius taken in first step.

3) now put one end of the compass at the line or circle where the required circle is to be tangent for example put one end at the circle periphery in your first question and mark a arc.

4) now put one end at the another point or circle or line where the required circle is to be tangential and again mark a arc. ( note the distance between two ends of compass should remain fixed while doing step 3 and step 4)

5) now you have two arcs, extend them such that they intersect each other. The point of intersection is the center of required circle.

6) now with the same center taking arc length same as the radius of circle , draw a circle using compass, the resulting circle will satisfy the given condition.

I hope it will help you.

Please Let me know if you need some more details.

Thankyou.
