Python Question there is a 5 letter word hidden if use

Python Question:

there is a 5 letter word hidden( _ _ _ _ _ ). if user input matches the letter in the word, how to replace that hidden letter position with the user input letter. what if the occurrence of the user input letter is in more than one position in that hidden word?

For example, user input letter is t ( could be anything, anywhere): t occurs twice in the hidden word. now hidden word is: _ t _ _ t. How do we do that?
