In aerobic respiration (presence of air) glucose is metabolize by glycolysis and TCA cycle. During this
process some acids are formed like pyruvic acid, citric acid, malic acid etc all are weak acids.This acids produced during oxidation of bacteria which turn bromothymol blue indicator from green to yellow. In the aerobic respiration (oxidative organisms) the yellow color production may be first seen on the surface of the medium.
