Solution

Volume of cuboid = length x width x depth = 180.4 in^3

x(x -3.2)2.3 = 180.4

x^2 -3.2x = 78.43

x^2 -3.2x -78.43 =0

Solve the quadratic equation: x = 10.60 inch x = -7.4

Neglect -ve value:

So, length = 10.6 inch

width = 10.6 -3.2 = 7.4 inch
