The cutting force increases with depth of cut and decreasing
The cutting force increases with depth of cut and decreasing rake angle. Why?
Solution
It is logical to say that when the depth of cut is incresed then there we observe an increase in the cutting force and this happens because when we increase the depth of cut then due to deeper cut it removes more material and for to remove material in incresing amount it will require more force to do so, thus it requires higher cutting force. Also when the rake angle decreases ,it also makes shear angle to decrease and due to this shear energy dissipation and cutting force increases.
