1.Explain why a graphical or window-based operating system interface is more readily amenable to running multiple tasks than is a command line interface. ]

2.Explain how frequency division multiplexing can be used to carry two or more independent information streams on one communication medium.

3.A modern CPU has a bit that can place the CPU in the system state or the application state. Briefly describe the difference between \"system state\" and \"application state.\"

Solution

1.Although many command line environments are capable of multitasking, they do not offer the same ease and ability to view multiple things at once on screen but in GUI users have windows that enable a user to view, control,
manipulate, and toggle through multiple programs and foldera at the same time.

2.The multiple seperate information signals that are sent over an FDM,such as the video signals of the television
channels that are sent over a cable TV system, are called baseband signals. At the source end,for each frequency
channel,an electronic oscillator generates a carrier signal,a steady oscillating waveform at a single frequency that serves to carry information. The carrier is much higher in frequency that baseband signal. The carrier signal and the baseband signal are combined in a modulator circuit. The modulator alerts some aspect of the carrier signal, such as its amplitude, frequency,or phase, with the baseband signal \"piggybacking\" the data onto carrier. The result of modulating the carrier with the baseband signal is to generate sub-frequencies,at the sum(fc+fb) and the difference (fc-fb) of the frequencies.then all the information carried by channel is in narrow band of frequuencies clustured around the carrier frequency. This is called the passband of the channel.Similarly additional baseband signals are used to modulate carriers at other frequencies, creating other channels of information. The carriers are spaced far enough apart in frequency that the band of frequencies occupied by each channel, the passbands of the seperate channels are not overlapped. Thus available bandwidth is divided into \"slots\" or channels, each of which can carry a seperate modulated signal.
FOR EXAMPLE:
the coaxial cable used by cable television systems has a bandwidth of about 1000MHZ but the passband of each television channel is only 6MHZ wide,so there is room for many channels on the cable.
at the destination end of cable fiber,or the radio reciever, for each channel a local oscillator produces a signal at the carrier frequency of that channel, that is mixed with the incoming modulated signal. The frequencies subtract, producing the baseband signal for that channel again. This is called demodulation. The resulting baseband signal is filtered out of the other frequencies and output to the user.

3.SYSTEM STATE data is comprised of the files like boot files, including the system files, and all files protected by windows file protection(WFP).
Active directory(on domain controller only).Sysvol(on a domain coltroller only).Certificate services(on certificate authority only).
APPLICATION STATE is a state where we have the information that is global for the application,
data stored in the application object stores data in the key value pair.
