Solution

A circle traces out an angle of 360^o. So 440^o means that an additional [440 - 360]^o is subtended.

This new angle is: 440 - 360 = 80^o which is a little less than the vertical line.

So, draw a circle with radius 1 cm [or use a scale of 10 cm : 1 unit and draw a circle of radius 10 cm].

Now, use a protractor [angle measurement instrument] and from the horizontal line passing through the circle, mark a point on the 80^th reading. Connect this point with the center of the circle. This distance is the radius of the circle with an angle of 80^o or 440^o.
