sketch a unit circle and the radius of a circle correspondin
sketch a unit circle and the radius of a circle corresponding to 440 degrees.. [please show all work]
Solution
A circle traces out an angle of 360o. So 440o means that an additional [440 - 360]o is subtended.
This new angle is: 440 - 360 = 80o which is a little less than the vertical line.
So, draw a circle with radius 1 cm [or use a scale of 10 cm : 1 unit and draw a circle of radius 10 cm].
Now, use a protractor [angle measurement instrument] and from the horizontal line passing through the circle, mark a point on the 80th reading. Connect this point with the center of the circle. This distance is the radius of the circle with an angle of 80o or 440o.
