(1) Give three reasons why one might choose to use a satisfied random sample rather than a simple random sample. (2) Having decided to use satisfied random sampling, how might the population be divided into strata? Give three ideas as to how strata might be defined.

Solution

(1) If the poputaion from which sample is to be drawn does have a homogenous group, then stratified ramdom sample technique is used rather than random sample.

(2) In this method , the population is stratified into number of nonoverlapping sunpopulation or strata and the sample items are selected from each stratum.
