Explain how frequency is used to inform probability and why
Explain how frequency is used to inform probability and why this important.
Solution
As you can see, the greater the frequency of something, the more usual it is. That is, it is more probable, or has greater probability.
Given a frequency table, you will see that those with high frequency can be assigned a probability by dividing all the frequencies by the sample size.
This is important as we can use this information to predict the distribution of future observations about the same parameter.
