(a) The maximum current is 4.00 A at 60.0 Hz. Calculate the inductance L ( in H units)

(b) At what angular frequency ? is the maximum current 1.50 A? ( in rad/s)

Solution

(A)

inductive reactance X_L = V / I = 100V /4.00A = 25

Inductive reactance X_L =2f L

hence, the indiuctance:

                     25 = 2 * 60 Hz * L

                          L = 6.63e-2 H

                             = 66.3*10^-3 H

(B)

The angular frequency is calculated as follows:

                 I_max = V_max / L

             1.50 = 100 / * 66.3*10^-3

                        =1.005*10^3 rad / s
