Write an equation for line L in pointslope form and slopeint

Write an equation for line L in point-slope form and slope-intercept form. L is parallel to y = 5x. Write an equation for line L in point-slope form. (Simplify your answer. Use integers or fractions for any numbers in the equation.) Write an equation for line L in slope-intercept form. (Simplify your answer. Use integers or fractions for any numbers in the equation.)

Solution

Solution:

Given Line L is parallel to y = 5x and it passes through point (-3 ,-3)

Since line L is paralled to y= 5x therefore slope of both the lines would be same

Hence m= 5

point thorugh Line L pass ( -3, -3)

(a)

Genral equation for point slope form is y -y1 = m (x-x1)

y -(-3) = 4 (x-(-4)) ( x1 = -3 and x2 = -3)

y +3 = 4 (x+3)

Answer

(b)
Genral equation for slope intercept form y = mx + c

y +3 = 4(x+3) ( from part (a)

y = 4x +12 -3

y = 4x+9

Answer

 Write an equation for line L in point-slope form and slope-intercept form. L is parallel to y = 5x. Write an equation for line L in point-slope form. (Simplify
