Examine the resistor network on the right of the page. In this circuit (SHOW YOUR WORKING): Vcc is 9V. R1 = 4k Ohm, R2 = 12 k Ohm, R3 = 6k Ohm What is the equivalent resistance between the points V0 and V1 ? What are the voltages V0, V1, V2 How much current will flow through each resistor (l_R1,l_R2, l_R3)
Solution
a) req=(4*12)/(4+12)=3 kohms
b) vo=9 volts
total current=9/[(6+3)*10^3]=1 mamps
v1=9-3*10^3*1*10^-3=6 volts
v2=0 volts
c) ir3=1 mamps
ir1=(1*10^-3*12*10^3)/(16*10^3)=0.75 mamps
ir2=1-0.75=0.25 mamps
