(b) What is the minimum value of the coefficient of static friction between the seed and the turntable if the seed is not to slip? (c) Suppose that the turntable achieves its angular speed by starting from rest and undergoing a constant angular acceleration for 0.50 s. Calculate the minimum coefficient of static friction required for the seed not to slip during the acceleration period.

Angular speed, w=33=3.454 rad/s

Acceleration

ac=rw^2=(8.9*10^-2)*3.454^2 =1.06 m/s^2

b)

Coefficient friction

us =ac/g =1.06/9.8 =0.108

c)

Acceleration

a=sqrt[ac^2+at^2]

=sqrt[1.06^2+(0.089*(3.454/0.5))^2]

=2.317m/s^2

us=a/g =2.317/9.8

us=0.23
